sweater weather?

sweater weather in march?
i went downtown to the cooper building today with my two friends for the sample sales! it's literally the best day of the month. i love going down there especially for the wildfox sample sale.. it's so insanely hectic but the stuff is amazing and cheap. i got three sweaters and a tshirt, all of which i absolutely adore. too bad it's march, not exactly los angeles "sweater weather" but they were too cute, i simply couldn't resist. i've been there only a few times before, and have passed a few other showrooms i liked, but wildfox is ultimately theee best. and to make it even better, there's a pressed juicery right down stairs, perfect cause of how hot it was today (how ironic considering the amount of sweaters i just single handedly bought). afterwords, we walked down to bottega louie, possibly my favorite restaurant in los angeles, for lunch. i got my usual soy cappuccino and a salad, and could not pass up the macaroons. ugh they're literally heaven and they're so irresistibly cute! rose and salted caramel are just sooo good. what a lovely day!
xx
my favorite of the three that i haven't taken off all day
loved the cute clouds, and it's super lightweight
literally the softest thing on this planet

bonjour à nouveau

hello my lovelies!
i'm so sorry for being so completely m.i.a. lately. i've had a looot on my plate lately and i've been thinking and writing a lot. i guess i was a bit uninspired, and kind of changing everything. but i'm back! Im thinking about going (pretty much) entirely vegan/gluten free! it's something I've been wanting to do for a while now, so I'm really hoping I can do it. I've been eating "clean" as I like to call it. I've been trying to avoid all things caloric and absolutely delicious, but I'm kinda loving it. that plus cardio barre everyday equals a happy spring breakin' claire. now im sitting in my dads car as I have been for the past four hours, going on a road trip...ughh. so this has been my little survival kit for the past few hours.. roots juice, vegan granola and fruit, my new free city sweats, my sleepy playlist, and old gossip girl reruns. happy spring break!

rose bowl thrifting

Went to the Rose Bowl Swap Meet a few weeks ago, and I finally got my film developed! My love for flea markets pretty much gets amplified times a million whenever I'm there. The intense vibe of waking up at 6 in the morning and leaving carrying trash bags full of all the insane thrifted crap you got is the beeesssst. I brought my grandpa's old Nikkormat camera from the 60's that I'd recently found in my attic and took pictures the entire day. My mother was not happy about how long it took me to adjust my shutter and aperature speeds, which definitely slowed us down, but what can I say? Blame the 60's. Xx

*~evil eyes~*

Today I was forced to say home from school... Concussions suckkk.  But somehow between my flagrant tumblring and watching old 90s reruns, I decided to try doing my nails since they were in desperate need of some TLC. I've always wanted to try doing the Alexa Chung inspired evil eye nails, but I never actually got to do it. So YAYY!

gwen stefani is probably my favorite person

Probably the only person I know who can totally pull off a bindi any day is Gwen. No doubt might have been my favorite 90s band (besides all the other ones I obsess over). For some strange reason, as a four year old child, my mom thought it'd be a great idea to fill my iPod and CD player and such with Gwen Stafani. No hate to mom here; when I tell people about it, they think I was the coolest four year old. But actually, Hollaback Girl was my childhood anthem (and in my defense, I had no idea what "the shit is bananas" actually meant." Gwen really inspired me throughout the rest of my childhood, though. I admit, thanks to her, I wore plaid and pigtails everyday and swore that I was gonna be a Harajuku Girl when I grew up.

She not only had amazing style and sass, but she actually really inspired me to pursue music and creativity and to embrace individuality. She was so "out there", that it really made me feel like I could get out and do something. She gave a shy little girl the courage to ignore what people said and thought and just do whatever. (Let's just say I was kind of the first grade rebel.)

So yeah, miss Gwen Stafani, congratulations on being the coolest person I know.

riot grrrl

I constantly feel like boys are just ruining everything. I mean don't get me wrong, sometimes they can be all cute and irresistible and stuff, but a majority of the time I just feel like they're judging everything I do and it makes me want to crawl up into a little ball and cry and listen to Taylor Swift. So I guess simply put, I'm a bit of a feminist. I'm not the kind of person who doesn't speak to boys and stops wearing deodorant because it's "SO FEMINISM", I just think that girls have the same right to everything in this world as guys do. I don't think people really realize the impact that guys have on our lives, and I think it's something that people need to understand. Girls are finally beginning to stand up for themselves, protesting in pussy riots and stuff, and it really helps in terms of self esteem.

I also feel like girls can just sometimes resort to gossip and backstabbing. It's just like "what are we doing?!1?!111?/ We're girls and we need to stick together! Why are we being stupid and acting like two year olds!!" Instead, let's express our feelings and resist the sexual harassment and exploitation of women.

Anyways, despite the numerous tangents, all I can say is that girliness should be embraced!!!!!!!!! Go pro feminism!
Join a girl gang (like mine), start a band, go to a pussy riot, just STAND UP FOR YOURSELF GIRLZ!

fashion week

Paris, London, New York...
Fall fashion week this year, all over the world, was amazing. I was really surprised by the 90's influence this year. (Beanies, overalls, patterns, and turtlenecks are coming back!) These are some of my faves from Fashion Week!

hanging out with cher horowitz

Plaid blazers, teenage girlhood, 90's catch phrases (as if! you are da bomb!) Clueless is literally the perfect teenage girl movie ever. If I could wear a bright yellow plaid mini skirt suit everyday to school, I probably would. Cher is the perfect preppy, girly teenage style icon. She's sassy, and is willing to say everything that us teenage girls are constantly thinking every second of our lives but are too "afraid" to say. In my perfect high school scenario, everyone would just wear plaid peacoats and matching headbands and write with furry pens all the time. (Why can't everyone just write with furry pens and be all cute. Ahh I wish high school would be all cute and stereotypical and preppy like in Clueless!!)
Mary Janes, cute little frilly socks, PLAID, headbands,  blazers, MORE PLAID (mixing and matching that plaid), sheer tops and peter pan collars.

Welcome to the world of Cher Horowitz.
As if!

current obsessions

Obsessed.
I've finally managed to document my current obsessions into one full post (it's about time!) It's a mix of music, fashion, retro, and vintage. Everything that I love.
More to come, I promise! ( I say enthusiastically as I realize that I have a ton of homework that I've been procrastinating towards...) Enjoy my lovelies.
